The installation of 2500Nm3/h methanol to hydrogen production and 10000t/a liquid CO2 Plant was successfully completed

The installation project of the 2500Nm3/h methanol to hydrogen production and 10000t/a liquid CO2 device, contracted by TCWY, has been successfully completed. The unit has undergone single unit commissioning and has met all the necessary conditions to start operation. TCWY has implemented their unique process for this unit, which ensures that the methanol consumption per unit is less than 0.5kg methanol/Nm3 hydrogen. This process is characterized by its simplicity, short process control, and direct utilization of H2 products in the customer's hydrogen peroxide project. Additionally, the process enables carbon capture and production of liquid CO2, thereby maximizing resource utilization.

Compared to traditional methods of hydrogen production, such as water electrolysis, natural gas reforming, and coal coke gasification, the methanol-to-hydrogen process offers several advantages. It features a simple process with a short construction period, requiring relatively small investments. Furthermore, it boasts low energy consumption and does not cause any environmental pollution. The raw materials used in this process, specifically methanol, can also be easily stored and transported.

As advancements in methanol hydrogen production processes and catalysts continue to be made, the scale of methanol hydrogen production is steadily expanding. This method has now become the preferred choice for small and medium-scale hydrogen production. The ongoing improvements in the process and catalysts have contributed to its growing popularity and increased efficiency.

The successful completion of the installation project and the achievement of operational conditions marks a significant milestone for TCWY. Their dedication to developing a sustainable and resource-efficient solution for hydrogen production has paid off. By utilizing methanol as the feedstock, TCWY has not only ensured efficient hydrogen production but has also addressed the issue of carbon capture and liquid CO2 production, making the process even more environmentally friendly. As the world transitions towards a more sustainable future, technologies like the methanol-to-hydrogen process will play a crucial role in ensuring a cleaner and greener energy landscape. TCWY's successful implementation of this process sets a positive precedent for the industry and encourages further exploration and adoption of alternative hydrogen production methods.
